Privacy Policy

What we collect

FitsMyRig is built around the smallest possible footprint. We collect three things, and only three things:

  • Region cookie — a two-letter country code so we can show prices in your currency and flag region-specific compliance. Set when you pick a region.
  • Garage cookie— a list of the rigs (year/make/model/trim) you've saved, so they appear in the header and homepage on return visits. Stored locally; nothing identifies you.
  • Google AdSense cookies— if Google AdSense is active for the site (in production), Google sets its own cookies for ad serving and frequency capping. See Google's Advertising policy for details.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts. No usernames or passwords.
  • No email address — unless you voluntarily enter one in the newsletter form.
  • No payment data. Purchases happen on the retailer's site, never ours.
  • No fingerprinting, no third-party analytics SDKs, no session replay.
  • No precise location. We use the country-level region cookie you set.

How we use it

  • Region-based pricing — to convert listing prices to your local currency and surface in-country sellers first.
  • Saved rigs — to keep your garage between visits and let you switch between rigs without re-entering year/make/model.
  • Ad serving— Google AdSense uses its cookies to choose which ads to show you and to cap frequency. We don't see who you are, only aggregate performance.

Third parties

We use third parties only where unavoidable. Each is named below along with what they receive.

  • Google AdSense — receives standard browser request metadata (IP, user agent, referrer) and its own cookies, used to serve ads. Google's privacy policy.
  • Affiliate networks— CJ (Commission Junction), Awin, ShareASale, and direct retailer programs. These see only the click-through itself, not who you are. They set tracking cookies on the destination site, not on ours.

Cookies we set

  • fitsmyrig_region

    Region/country preference. Used to localise pricing. Retention: 1 year.

  • fitsmyrig_garage

    Saved rigs (year/make/model/trim). No personal data. Retention: 1 year.

  • __gads, __gpi, IDE, ANID, ...

    Set by Google AdSense for ad serving and frequency capping. Only present if AdSense is active. Retention: per Google's policy (typically up to 13 months).

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Because we don't collect personal data tied to identity, there is nothing to export or delete in most cases. Cookies live in your browser — clear them at any time via your browser's settings.

If you submitted your email through the newsletter form and want it removed, or if you have any other privacy concern, contact us using the form below and we'll act within 30 days. EU/UK and California residents can request access, deletion, or correction at any time.
