Max tire diameter

The largest tire (overall diameter, in inches) a chassis clears at full articulation without rubbing or damage.

Max tire diameter is the overall diameter — bead to bead measured vertically — that a chassis can clear at full articulation without rubbing the fender liner, control arms, or sway-bar end-links.

FitsMyRig publishes two numbers per chassis: - Stock tire ceiling — the largest diameter that fits with no lift and no body modifications. For most modern mid-size 4×4s this is around 31–32″. - Lifted tire ceiling — the typical maximum with a 2–3″ lift and minimal trim work. For a 2018 Tacoma this is about 33″, for a Wrangler JL about 37″.

Going above the lifted ceiling means: fender trimming, body mounting chop (BMC), aftermarket fender flares, or in some cases a body lift on top of the suspension lift. The ceiling is community-calibrated — different builders report slightly different numbers depending on rim width, backspacing, and suspension articulation.
